On March 8. 1965, 3500 US-Marines land in South Vietnam. Around 1968 already more than half a million. 1973 US Troops withdrawal, 1975 North and South Vietnam were reunified. Over 2 Mio. people died, including 60.000 US-Soldiers.
It’s said that the Vietnam war ended a lot myths, the myth of a clean war, heroic soldiers and the invincibility of the USA.
