Alphonse Gabriel “Al” Capone was born in Brooklyn to Italian immigrants, and became the most wanted American gangster in the 1920s/30s.

Got the nickname Scarface because of flirting with Frank Gallucio’s sister, who got mad and attacked him with a knife.

Al led the Chicago Outfit, who were known as the “Capones”. They smuggled liquor during Prohibition, and did other illegal activities, with which they made US$100 million per year.

Till this day his name is connected with ‘money laundry’, Al was the first man to buy and use laundromats to do tax evasion.
